Special Video for a Very Special Book!
- By Amanda Ingram
Contrary to popular belief, what with iPad apps and video games, children do love to read books. It’s proven by science. If you don’t believe me, Google it. The book trailer to Super Moms Special Children is fantastically made. Share the video! Show your kids! Have fun! It will be the best 0.38 seconds of your day, promise.
First, the animated design is simple but powerful. The characters are vague in appearance and are represented in colors such as blue and red. The significance of this ambiguous characterization creates an environment any child or adult can connect with. There are no race or class barriers that may create a disconnect for underrepresented peoples. The Special Needs community knows all too well what that’s like.
Also, for children, the simple design makes it easy for the child to grasp the main lesson the quick thirty second trailer aims to make.
Knowledge is power.
Yes, we’ve all heard of this wisdom but as a society we have forgotten to teach our children. Today, children grow in a culture that preaches money is power. But money is only a resource acquired through the use of knowledge. Knowledge is also freedom. With knowledge, no one can stifle one’s mind with lies; a powerful mind is a thing indeed. The book Super Moms Special Children teaches children that its okay to be different. To look different. To survive different. And its also okay to play with children who are different than themselves.
